As a 3D Modeler, you will play a key role in delivering precise, constructible models and drawings that are essential to the success of each project.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for commercial metal roofing and façade systems, including panels, flashing, trim, and accessories.
• Interpret architectural and structural plans to produce accurate roof and façade layouts, section details, and material take-offs.
• Create and maintain coordination models for complex commercial roof structures using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, HiCad, Revit, Inventor, or Tekla.
• Generate shop drawings, installation diagrams for field crews, and CNC-ready panel schedules for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, general contractors, and other trades to resolve design conflicts and ensure project intent is met.
• Participate in BIM and 3D modeling coordination meetings, performing clash detection to identify and resolve conflicts between roofing and other building systems.
• Ensure all models and drawings comply with company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and relevant building codes.
• Support the project team throughout submittal, approval, fabrication, and installation phases.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Construction Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience modeling commercial metal roofing systems or architectural sheet metal in a CAD/BIM environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Rhino, Revit, Inventor, or Tekla Structures is a plus.
• Experience with CNC and fabrication software is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of commercial roofing and wall panel systems, such as standing seam, insulated metal panels, and retrofit systems.
• Familiarity with structural framing and envelope detailing for large commercial buildings.
• Understanding of roofing and façade codes, slope and drainage principles, and construction sequencing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with Navisworks for coordination and clash detection is preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO drawings, cut lists, and fabrication optimization is a plus.
• Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, and manufacturer specifications for commercial roofs is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, RFI responses, and submittals.
