As a Security Officer - Armed Shopping Mall Patrol in Austin, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment within a dynamic retail location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to support a positive atmosphere, and providing exceptional customer service and communication to all visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other unwanted behavior.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required by site procedures.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency personnel as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Remain alert and observant while on duty, reporting any suspicious activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all Allied Universal protocols and client site instructions while carrying out assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a Level III armed certification if required by the state of Texas.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license if required by the state or local jurisdiction.
  • Possess a current CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
