Job Title: Cable Technician

Location: Large Construction Site

Pay Range:

• Level 1: $20–$21/hr (based on experience)
• Level 2: $22–$26/hr (based on experience)

We are seeking experienced Cable Technicians to assist with pulling cable and terminating keystone-style jacks at a large commercial construction site.

Responsibilities include:

• Pulling, terminating, and testing Cat5/6 and fiber optic cables
• Installing cabling infrastructure (racks, cabinets, etc.)
• Installing network racks and cabinets in server rooms
• Reviewing job documentation, including:
  • Floor plans (equipment locations)
  • Reflected ceiling plans
  • Conduit call-outs
  • Wall elevations
  • Signal flow diagrams
  • Cable pull schedules

• Regular standing, climbing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, and stooping
• Frequent use of hands for handling tools and typing
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Vision requirements: close, distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Comfortable using power tools

• Cable pulling and termination
• Structured cabling
• Punchdown experience
• Familiarity with Cat5/6 and fiber optic cabling

Candidates should have:

• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
• PPE required before starting:
  • Hard hat with chin strap
  • Safety glasses
  • Steel-toed shoes
  • Safety vest

• Tool pouch
• Pencil/Pen/Sharpie
• Box knife
• Wire strippers
• Impact tool (Punchdown for 66 and 100 block)
• Flashlight or headlamp
• 10-in-1 screwdriver
• Security bit screwdriver
• Torpedo 9” magnetic level
• Hammer
• Channel locks
• Tape measure (25’ minimum)
• Diagonal side cutters
• Long nose pliers
• Drywall saw
• Low voltage snips

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Claude, TX.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
