Job Description

Youngdahl Consulting Group, Inc., has an opening for a CERTIFIED ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST (CEG) . Youngdahl is a full-service geotechnical consulting firm providing services for earthwork construction, materials testing, geotechnical engineering and design, and environmental geology. This position is located at our office in El Dorado Hills and is not a hybrid or remote position.

The required qualifications include:

• B.A. or B.S. in Geology/Earth Science, Master’s degree preferred
• Strong technical writing skills
• Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) license required, or ability to sit for the Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) exam.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and written/verbal English communication skills
• Willingness to perform subsurface investigations and field work as required
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
• HAZWOPER 40-Hour certified or ability to obtain certification
• Support of geotechnical engineering services
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations/codes
• Ability to walk long distances for extended periods (i.e., geologic mapping)
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work and budgets for new projects
• Manage Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental remediation projects
• Manage landslide/rock slide assessments/mitigation
• Knowledge of advanced environmental geology, rock mechanics, hydrogeology, geological hazards assessments, and more
• Provide technical direction and training to less experienced professional staff.
• Participate in the development of marketing strategies and presentations of qualifications to clients on projects.

Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000

No H-1B visa sponsorship - must be able to legally work in the U.S
