The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive women's healthcare including pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, newborn care, and gynecological services. They work collaboratively with OB/GYN physicians to manage patient care, perform diagnostics, deliver infants, and provide patient education. This role requires independent judgment, full-scope practice within a healthcare system, and continuous quality management to ensure high standards of patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the supervising OB/GYN attending physician, this position performs assigned functions for continuity of patient care and efficient patient flow. Need to maintain a high quality of patient care. The Certified Nurse-Midwife provides primary women's health care focusing on pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, care of the newborn and the family planning and gynecological needs of women. The nurse-midwife exercises a high level of independent judgment in managing patient care assessing risk status. The Certified Nurse-Midwife practices within a health care system that provides for physician consultation, collaborative management and referral as indicated by the health status of the patient. The nurse-midwife is responsible for providing full-scope care, which includes twenty-four hour in-house coverage.
