Role Description

The Chief Appraiser will oversee the property appraisal process to ensure compliance with local and state regulations in Whitfield County, GA. Primary responsibilities include managing appraisal operations, supervising staff, setting appraisal policies, and ensuring accurate property tax assessments. This is a full-time, on-site position and requires collaboration with government officials and the public while leading efforts to maintain equitable property valuations throughout the county.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of property appraisal techniques, real estate principles, and tax assessment regulations
  • Proficiency in supervising, training, and mentoring personnel
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in utilizing appraisal software and other relevant technology
  • Ability to interpret and apply state and local property tax codes effectively
  • Certified Property Appraiser status or equivalent qualifications, along with relevant professional certifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience in property appraisal, with a proven track record of managing a team
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field

Pay Range

Based on qualifications and experience; typically $115,000 to $130,000
