Job Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) is:

• A multi-skilled health professional who works interdependently with other health care professionals to provide quality health care to the patients.
• Educated and trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills in the medical care environment.
• Directly responsible to the physician-employer who hires him/her or any other physician appointed supervisor in the facility.
• Expected to work closely with all members of the professional team, medical staff, patients and their family.

Access to protected health information is limited to the minimum necessary to perform the duties of the job.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required
• Medical Assistance certification required

Grade 14.
