Our client is seeking to add an experienced Commercial Liability Claims Adjuster to join their California team. This person will be responsible for managing a portfolio of moderate to high-exposure Commercial Liability claims which includes Auto, Slip and Falls, and 3rd party Property Damage losses. This is a temp to perm position with medical, dental, and vision benefits while on assignment!

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Commercial Liability claims from intake through closure, with an emphasis on litigated matters.

• Evaluate coverage and policy language; draft clear coverage positions, including reservations of rights and declinations.

• Build resolution plans, establish and adjust reserves, and track performance against financial targets.

• Select, guide, and assess outside counsel; manage litigation budgets and enforce guidelines.

• Prepare concise file notes, status updates, and executive-ready summaries; present recommendations to leadership.

• Negotiate settlements within authority; participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years' experience managing Commercial Auto and/or General Liability claims.
• Must be well versed in handling California claims.
• Litigation experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; professional designations (e.g., AIC, CPCU, SCLA) a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to deliver clear, concise recommendations and reports.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and modern claims/ reporting platforms.
• Strong command of the claims lifecycle, reserving, best practices, and regulations; able to interpret legal documents (pleadings, contracts, statutes, policy forms).

Salary & Benefits:

• $30.00/hr to $40.00/hr (depending on experience)
