Night Shift Inspector 3 Month Contract

We are currently seeking a Night Shift Inspector for a 3-month contract, starting in January, to support the Port Authority Bus Terminal project. The role involves coordinating the facility, managing lane closures, and ensuring effective communication between the Operations Desk (Ops Desk), contractor, and project team. The position is critical for maintaining project timelines and quality while working during overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate facility operations overnight, including lane closures and working around the Lincoln Tunnel area.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the Ops Desk and contractors.
• Manage and oversee daily work logs, ensuring clear documentation of tasks completed during the day and what needs to be addressed during the night.
• Prepare daily reports and maintain communication with the project team, highlighting work performed and the upcoming night's tasks.
• Ensure smooth coordination of work through the night shift, handling all logistics and communication.
• Monitor heavy civil decking, including concrete, foundation, and utility work on roads approaching the Lincoln Tunnel.

Schedule

• Shift: 11:00?PM 5:00?AM (Base Shift)
• Arrival: 10:30?PM (Start of Shift)
• Weekend Hours: 10:30?PM 6:30?AM or 8:00?AM (Potential double shifts on weekends)

Required Qualifications And Qualities

• Minimum 5 years of field inspection experience, preferably with heavy civil or road construction.
• Strong administrative and coordination skills.
• Knowledge and experience in civil work, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience working on Port Authority projects is a plus.
• Previous experience with major roadwork or tunnel projects, especially in managing night shifts, lane closures, and contractor coordination.
• A "super-type" inspector with experience in managing fieldwork and coordinating between various teams.
• Excellent communication skills for preparing detailed reports and managing the night shift.
• Ability to manage overtime and double shifts during weekends.
• Must be able to handle the unique challenges of overnight operations, including managing reports and tasks in real-time.

Pay

Estimated base salary: $60 per hour.
