At the Special Narcotics Prosecutor, we are committed to a safer and more secure future for our communities. We are looking for a Data Analyst responsible for utilizing data analysis techniques and software tools to support law enforcement agencies engaged in narcotics investigations. The analyst will collect, process, and analyze data related to drug trafficking and criminal activities to provide actionable insights and intelligence, supporting operational and strategic decision-making. The role involves collaboration with law enforcement, prosecutors, and stakeholders to identify trends and emerging threats in narcotics trade. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collect and aggregate data from law enforcement reports, intelligence databases, surveillance, and open data sources. Validate, clean, and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Organize and maintain data repositories for efficient analysis. Data Analysis and Visualization Use statistical analysis tools like Power BI, Tableau, or R to analyze data on overdoses, trafficking, and distribution networks. Develop visualizations such as dashboards and reports to communicate findings clearly. Intelligence Development Translate data findings into intelligence products like reports and briefings. Identify patterns and anomalies indicative of drug activities. Trend Analysis and Forecasting Monitor emerging trends in drug markets and overdoses. Provide strategic recommendations for resource allocation. Assist ADA’s with Investigations Compile and examine data for narcotics investigations. Prepare visualizations and reports, including maps and link analysis. Testify in court regarding data analysis. Qualifications Master's degree with 3+ years in data analysis or Bachelor's with 5+ years, preferably with law enforcement experience. Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS, R, and SQL. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Additional Information Eligible employees may qualify for federal loan forgiveness and state repayment programs.
