**Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our Infusion Center team. The EMT will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients receiving infusion therapies. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a patient-centered approach to healthcare.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist with patient assessments and monitor vital signs before, during, and after infusion therapies.
- Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols and under the supervision of the nursing staff or healthcare provider.
- Prepare and maintain infusion equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards.
- Provide educational support and clear instructions to patients and their families regarding the infusion process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, including nurses, physicians, and pharmacists, to optimize patient care.
- Document patient interactions and medical histories accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Respond to medical emergencies within the Infusion Center, utilizing emergency response protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all equipment is functioning and readily available.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training programs as needed.
**Qualifications: **
- Current EMT certification from an accredited program.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in healthcare (CNA, LPN, etc.) are a plus.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an infusion center or related clinical environment.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, infusion therapies, and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent patient care and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
**Physical Requirements: **
- Ability to lift and move patients, as well as perform physically demanding tasks associated with patient care.
- Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods throughout the shift.
**Working Conditions: **
- Work in a clinical setting with potential exposure to infectious materials.
- Flexible hours, including possible evenings and weekends, depending on patient needs.
