Position: Health and Safety Specialist

Location: Richmond, VA 23221

6-month Contract to Perm

Contract rate up to $35/hr

Perm conversion up to $75,000

Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in and occupational safety, safety management, environmental management, or a related field
• 2 years' experience in the occupational safety field
• Open to taking additional training such Workers Compensation, 40-hour HAZWOPER training courses, etc.
• Certified in OSHA 30 / or strongly familiar with OSHA Regulations

Job Description

A government entity is partnering with Insight Global to place a Health and Safety Specialist. This person will sit onsite in Richmond, VA 23221. The main responsibilities will be to provide assistance to the departments with occupational health and safety programs; conduct safety inspections and ensure standards, rules, and regulations are followed; review accident reports, ensure appropriate paperwork is completed, and corrective action is taken; assess construction projects for safety compliance; conduct safety briefings; and perform security monitoring via electronic systems. Conversion salary for the position is up to $75,000. Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
