Production Manager

On-site: Gardena, CA

Job Summary:

The Production Manager oversees the daily operations of production supervisors, teams, Production Operators, and administrative support staff. This role ensures efficient, GMP-compliant production across all lines and the Production department, delivering high-quality products .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage daily production schedules and job priorities.
  • Ensure accurate job sheets, lot numbers, and packaging for all production runs.
  • Communicate delays or issues to management and propose process improvements.
  • Train operators on equipment use, safety, and efficiency techniques.
  • Coordinate with departments (Receiving, QC, HR, Finance) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor GMP and HACCP compliance and enforce safety protocols.
  • Maintain equipment knowledge and oversee material processing and steam operations.
  • Provide month-end projections and track KPIs.
  • Cross-train teams to minimize downtime and maximize flexibility.
  • Attend production and safety meetings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach production supervisors and teams.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans.
  • Train staff on safety, production goals, and equipment handling.
  • Report team performance to the VP Operations regularly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years in food manufacturing management.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment and minor repair skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Familiarity with lab specs, mesh sizes, and specification sheets is a plus.
  • Forklift or vehicle operation experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
