General Laborer Job Description and Requirements
Description:
The general laborer position will perform a variety of duties involving tool use, lifting, carrying and managing equipment and machinery to provide support and aid to the skilled craftspeople on-site. This entry level position will aid in reading prints, using a hand grinder, operating overhead crane, and driving forklift along with any other assigned duties.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to read a tape measure to a 1/32” scope (standard and metric).
- Be able to follow both verbal and written instruction from trainer/leaderman.
- Must be a team player, much involvement with working and communicating as partners.
- Need to know how or be willing to learn how to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Being able to read blueprints is a plus but not required
- Must be able to follow all company policies.
- Must report to work on time and work the scheduled shift.
- Must be able to stand/walk for duration of daily scheduled work shift.
- To advance beyond entry level, you must be willing and able to learn further duties as instructed.
- Be able to perform strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in extreme environmental conditions
