As a Histologist Technician at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:
You will file, locate, log, retrieve, and deliver pathology specimens/reports.
You will perform standard histology procedures for embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining tissue for analysis.
You will provide the pathologist with well stained microscopic slides of surgical sections and perform any necessary procedures for microscopic diagnosis
You will perform specialized testing as assigned.
You will assist in instructing other personnel as assigned.
You will assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.
Qualifications:
Certification by the Board of Registry of American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred.
College level course work in anatomy and chemistry required.
2 years histology experience; experience may be obtained through completion of 1 year of an accredited training program in histology techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of medical terminology, histochemistry, histology, and basic mathematics and skill at microtomy and embedding tissue required.
Must have good verbal and written skills and good computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
