Escuela Avancemos is seeking a Social Studies or History Teacher for middle school grades 6 through 8th grade for the 2025-2026 school year.

Escuela Avancemos! is a K-8 Academy located in the heart of Southwest Detroit. We are looking for educators who will inspire our students to succeed at the highest level by educating them with love, restorative principles, and rigorous learning expectations. We are looking for:

• Our teachers are responsible for providing students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in core academic subject areas designed to fulfill their maximum potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
• Teachers in this role are expected to facilitate instructional practices that enable students to develop competencies and skills that will prepare them for success in higher education and society.
• Additionally, our teachers are expected to cultivate a positive school culture of scholarship, character, and leadership traits.

Qualifications:

• Appropriate grade-level teacher certification, Social Studies (RX) is preferred.
• Candidates interested in pursuing alternative teacher certification are encouraged to apply.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Job Type: Full-time.

• Salary commensurate with experience.
