Position Overview

This position is ideal for a EA/CPA or future candidate who enjoys hands-on tax work, client interaction, and a steady year-round workflow —without the pressure of managing the entire firm.

You’ll work directly under our Senior Accountant, providing technical tax expertise and client support while collaborating with a small, experienced team in a professional yet relaxed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns .
• Assist the Senior Accountant with tax planning, research, and complex filings .
• Support bookkeeping, payroll, and financial-statement preparation for small-business clients.
• Communicate with clients to obtain documentation and explain tax positions.
• Maintain accurate and organized workpapers and digital records.
• Participate in off-season process improvement, software updates, and client projects.
• Stay current with federal and Missouri tax laws and accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Active EA/CPA a plus or eligible (a plus if either can be obtained in 12-18 months)
• 2-4 years of recent public-accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of individual and small-business taxation .
• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop/Online, Sage 50 and Drake Tax (preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to thrive during tax season.
