The English/Spanish Interpreter in our Neighborhood PACE program is responsible for providing interpretation to the patients and staff in our PACE Centers. This role will provide interpreter services as needed and collaborate in the enhancement of the quality of services to patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Essential duties include adhering to the Code of Ethics for interpreters, safeguarding patient confidentiality, performing on-call staff messaging functions in Epic, answering calls from the Interpreter Services Line, providing interpretation for patients of all ages over the phone, and assisting in solving issues to ensure efficient delivery of interpreter services. Qualifications include completion of a medical interpreter certification program, 1-2 years of medical interpreting experience in the US, bilingual verbal and written skills, experience with older adults preferred, competence in culturally appropriate interpretation, ability to perform different interpreting modes, excellent interpersonal skills, understanding of patient rights, and computer skills preferred.
