Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing team. This role is critical in designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, materials science, and manufacturing processes, with a passion for innovation and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace and defense products.
  • Perform engineering analysis including stress, thermal, and vibration calculations.
  • Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, MIL-STD, ISO) and customer specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and root cause analysis for product improvements.
  • Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design within aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering simulation tools (FEA, CFD).
  • Knowledge of materials, machining, and fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and defense contracting requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Background in additive manufacturing or advanced composites.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental and performance testing.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and documentation.
