Military Acquisition Officer

Astrion is seeking a Military Acquisition Officer to join our team in Arlington VA. Must have a Top Secret clearance with the ability for an /SCI.

Military acquisition, also known as defense acquisition, encompasses the bureaucratic management and procurement processes that nations use to invest in technologies, programs, and product support, essential for achieving national security objectives and the processes and practices involved in procuring the technologies, equipment, and services necessary for national defense and military operations. The goal is to acquire products that meet specified needs and enhance mission capabilities at a fair price.

What you will do:

• Manage and administer defense acquisition programs.
• Plan and develop program management techniques and training programs.
• Coordinate with commanders and staff to develop proper acquisition plans and schedule.
• Ensure the planned acquisitions support operational strategies.
• Ensure quality assurance and support for all systems and equipment.
• Understand the military programming process to include planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE).
• Performs a variety of specific tasks designed to develop knowledge and skill in applying Acquisition Program Management principles, methods and techniques and understanding the fundamental precepts of defense systems acquisition.
• Performs a variety of specific tasks designed to develop knowledge and skill in applying Acquisition Logistics principles, methods and techniques.
• Performs taskings which are designed to increase knowledge and skill in the acquisition program management field and related areas.

Required skills:

• 7+ years of experience in Military acquisition
• BS/BA degree (Masters is preferred)
• Experience with PPBS System
• Requires a TS clearance with the ability to get an /SCI
