Network Engineer- Cisco Specialist
Location- Phoenix, AZ
Clearance- Public Trust or Secret This program requires US Citizenship We're seeking a seasoned Network Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco LAN/WAN/WLAN technologies to support infrastructure and operations across a large-scale enterprise environment. This role is hands-on and customer-facing, with responsibility for maintaining, optimizing, and securing network systems serving over 1,500 employees.
Key Responsibilities - Serve as point of contact for end-user support (wired/wireless networks, telecom, servers, workstations)
- Provide expert support for Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless devices
- Monitor and report on newly installed systems using centralized dashboards
- Maintain day-to-day operations and ensure seamless integration into existing environments
- Recommend upgrades and improvements as technologies evolve
- Train IT staff to independently manage and support network systems
- Provide Tier 0-4 support and escalation assistance to PIMC IT staff
- Design, configure, test, and maintain Cisco network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot routing protocols, VPNs, WAN optimization, and vendor connectivity
- Ensure network security and compliance using Cisco ASA, Firepower, and ISE
- Accurately diagram and document network changes
Required Skills & Experience - Certification: Valid CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
- Experience:
- 8+ years hands-on Cisco networking experience
- 4+ years as a Cisco Network Engineer
- Recent experience supporting Indian Health Service environments
- Protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPSEC, vPC
- Hardware Expertise:
- Cisco Catalyst 9300/9400
- Nexus 93180YC
- Edge Routers 8300
- Security Tools: Cisco ASA, Firepower, ISE
- Wireless: Cisco 5520/3802 devices
- Topology: Spine-Leaf architecture
- Virtualization: VM/VxRail networking servers
- Monitoring: OpManager, Syslog administration
- Support: Willingness to provide 24/7 on-call availability
Position Details: - Pay Rate / Range $50-70/hr
