THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN SIDNEY NEBRASKA 

Sidney Regional Medical Center has an immediate opening for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) within our Rehabilitation department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patient to perform various functional activities and exercises. Administer Occupational therapy treatment per protocol and guidelines set forth by Federal and State regulations.
  • Review Physician's referral (prescriptions), patient's condition, and medical records to determine occupational therapy treatment required. Perform tests and measures patients' strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, cognition, and activities of daily living. Record findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
  • Record treatment, response, and progress in patient charts or enter information into computer. Transcribe and carry out physician's orders in a correct and timely manner. Recognize and question inconsistencies in medical orders or treatment regimen.
  • Confer with Physician and other Practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment programs and interpret Occupational Therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care. Communicate effectively between patient, patient's family, Physicians, and other staff members of the Healthcare Team in evaluation of care to ensure continuity of care.
  • Plan and conduct lectures and training programs on Occupational Therapy and related topics for medical staff, other health care professionals, students and community groups as delegated.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Valid license in the State of Nebraska as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • BLS certification
