Overview

We are seeking a Vice President in our Purpose Center of Excellence . The Purpose Center of Excellence is a dedicated team of subject matter experts who communicate across complex climate, sustainability, social impact and social justice topics and the intersections that exist within these areas.

In this role, the Vice President serves as the senior counsel for a variety of clients helping to drive the day-to-day strategy and leading internal account teams. You will be driving integrated marketing and/or communications strategies that tap into the agencys offerings. There is a key operational aspect to this role where the person is responsible for overseeing budgets and scopes of work, negotiating contracts and understanding/identifying the right staffing needs for each account.

We expect Vice Presidents to act as a leader within their department and office, supporting overall growth through new business and upsells, alongside guiding and training junior employees.

This position will be focused on accounts in the Purpose/Impact, sustainability/climate and NGO category. In this role, you will help clients establish, communicate and measure sustainability goals and strategies, as well as build breakthrough social impact programs and thoughtful, strategic Purpose programs and initiatives from the ground up. Further, this role will be expected to act as an internal and external thought leader on Purpose tracking the trends, news and moves of the day and providing stimulating and insightful commentary.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic lead and senior day-to-day client contact, as a true thought partner. Provide counsel on integrated strategies, messaging, planning and execution, creative elements, and measurement.
  • Primarily responsible for overall client health and success. Ability to anticipate client needs, challenges and issues and develop strategic plans to address and support their continued success.
  • Responsible for financial and budget oversight on accounts including utilization, and staffing requirements. May participate in contract negotiations.
  • Evaluate client needs regularly and identify opportunities to grow the business, selling in agencys broader offerings.
  • Outline roles and responsibilities for the account teams and re-evaluate on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for ongoing training and development of junior staff and supervision of mid-level employees.
  • Lead new business initiatives.
  • Active participation in practice, office or department operations and growth.
  • Promote and uphold Allisons core values; participate in agency-wide training and professional development programs

Qualifications

  • Requires prior experience as a senior director in public relations, marketing or a related field. Vice-Presidents at Allison typically have a minimum of 9+ years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in sustainability/ESG/climate, social impact, nonprofit/NGO communications.
  • GRI certification or familiarity with SASB is considered a plus.
  • Experience in African markets a plus but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape with an ability to advise account teams on best practices in storytelling.
  • Ability to manage expectations appropriately and effectively.
  • Proven track-record in developing integrated programs for accounts/clients.
  • Direct management experience preferred.
  • Experience in budget tracking and resource allocation.

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $113k-$170k. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
