Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) opportunity is available to support K-12 students in a school setting located approximately 45 minutes south of Washington, DC. This full-time, contract position is designed to help fill in for an existing Speech-Language Pathologist and provides valuable experience within a public school environment serving children from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist with implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Support speech and language interventions under direct supervision
  • Maintain documentation and progress notes as guided by the supervising clinician
  • Adapt to varied caseloads and student needs as assigned
  • Communicate effectively with students, educators, and staff to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Speech Communication Disorders or related field
  • Registration with the state Speech Board by the supervising SLP (Virginia does not license SLPAs)
  • Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday) or part-time with a minimum of 20 hours weekly
  • Previous SLPA experience preferred but not required; early-career candidates encouraged to apply
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Commitment to supporting diverse student populations in an educational setting

Location: Schools located in the Washington, DC area (approximately 45 minutes south of DC)

This contract role runs from January 5 through May 29, 2026, offering an important opportunity to gain school-based clinical experience and contribute to student communication outcomes. Compensation is commensurate with experience, with a competitive pay scale reflecting years in the field.
