As a Security Guard - Armed Retail Site in Austin, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a major retail location, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. In this armed role, you will utilize your training and professionalism to address security-related concerns and provide reassurance to those in the area. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment to address issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to observe for unusual activity and help to deter potential security-related concerns.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a welcoming environment for customers and staff.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed to address incidents at the location.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to a variety of situations, including security-related and emergency events, specific to a retail and/or mall environment.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and client site policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Level III Armed Certification is required for positions in Texas.
  • Baton Certification is preferred.
  • Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
