Job Summary

As an SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive on-page and off-page SEO strategies to maximize organic search performance. You will leverage industry-leading tools such as SEMrush, SimilarWeb, Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog to optimize website structure, content, and authority, ensuring strong search rankings and sustained growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform thorough keyword research to identify high-value search opportunities.
• Optimize website elements, including metadata, headings, internal links, URLs, and content structure.
• Audit and improve technical SEO components such as site architecture, mobile optimization, page speed, and schema markup.
• Use Screaming Frog and Google Search Console to conduct regular site audits, identifying crawl errors, broken links, and technical issues.
• Collaborate with content and development teams to ensure seamless integration of SEO best practices across new and existing web pages.
• Independently develop, write, and implement a comprehensive SEO content strategy based on keyword insights, industry trends, and business objectives.
• Create detailed content plans and collaborate with writers or produce SEO-optimized content yourself when necessary.
• Ensure all published content aligns with SEO best practices to maximize organic reach and engagement.
• Plan and implement link-building campaigns focused on acquiring high-quality backlinks from authoritative sources.
• Conduct backlink audits to identify and disavow harmful links while nurturing beneficial partnerships.
• Monitor competitor backlink profiles using SimilarWeb and SEMrush to identify new linking opportunities.
• Use SEMrush, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console to track, measure, and report SEO performance KPIs, such as keyword rankings, traffic, CTR, and backlink growth.
• Provide monthly and quarterly reports on SEO performance, highlighting successes, challenges, and actionable insights.
• Stay current with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices.
• Adapt strategies in response to evolving search engine algorithms and industry shifts

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably within e-commerce or regulated industries.
• Proven ability to independently create and execute SEO content strategies.
• Strong experience using SEO tools such as SEMrush, Screaming Frog, SimilarWeb, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
• Experience in the cigar industry is a plus.

Skills and Qualifications

• Deep expertise in keyword research, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO.
• Strong writing and editorial skills with a strategic content creation and optimization approach.
• Analytical skills with the ability to translate SEO performance data into actionable strategies.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on precision in technical implementations and content optimizations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with content, marketing, and technical teams.
• Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Slack) preferred.
• Solid skills with MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and participating in virtual meetings.
• Ability to type, view screens, and interact with digital tools for extended periods.
• Occasional standing, walking, and bending as needed in an office or collaborative environment.
• Manual dexterity for using a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
• Visual acuity to read detailed reports, analytics, and data on computer screens.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, such as carrying laptops or small office equipment.
• Flexibility to adapt to potential travel requirements for team collaboration, conferences, or vendor meetings.
