Our
DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a
Shipping Associate position that just opened in
Scottsdale, AZ . In this role, you will perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping duties such as determining proper carrier and route and preparing paperwork for shipments. To be considered, you will have a High School Diploma plus general knowledge of shipping activities/processes.

Position : Shipping Associate
Contract : 24 months or longer
Pay: $ 20.58 /hour
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES: As a Shipping Associate, you'll perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping duties such as determining proper carrier and route and preparing paperwork for shipments. Your clear communication skills will enable you to effectively process outgoing shipments, follow shipping practices and procedures, and route, track, and process shipments using the computer system.
Duties and Tasks :
- Processes outgoing shipments
- Packages product for shipment; by determining proper packaging and cushioning
- Uses computer system for routing, tracking, and processing of shipments
- Follows shipping practices and procedures
- Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications
- Communicates clearly with coworkers, planners, material managers, and internal customers
- Helps set and work toward team goals
- prioritizes individual daily activities
- Supports continuous improvement activities
- Actively participates in meetings
- Lifts heavy items and may operate power industrial vehicles
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - General knowledge of shipping activities/processes
- Detailed focused
- General Knowledge of computer skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communication effectively with individuals within own department
- Ability to obtain or provide information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation
- Ability to work in a teamed environment to ensure all objectives are met for the work group
- Clear supervision and instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments

Qualification: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Certification in assigned area is preferred if appropriate.
