Knightwerx is looking for a highly skilled and experienced technician to help build out and maintain a fabrication shop, for the purpose of fabricating and assembling small air vehicle components. We operate in a fast-paced development environment that balances innovation and ingenuity with practicality and reliability. You’ll be working and supported by a team of strong engineers and subject matter experts to develop an aircraft from the ground up, and you will be involved in every step of the process. Work Experience

• 4+ years experience as a technician/fabricator
• Demonstrated ability to design and produce lightweight aircraft components, perform analysis and testing of aircraft components

Primary Duties

• Build out a fabrication, assembly, and lay up shop in coordination with the chief engineer
• Help maintain shop in a well-stocked and tooled condition
• Support engineering team in machine fabrication, composites layup, vehicle and test stand assembly
• Provide expertise in materials and fabrication methods

Tasks

• Take designs from engineers and turn them into reality - primarily working from detailed drawings, but occasionally working from described concepts
• Assist engineers in determining the proper materials and fabrication methods when needed
• Help source and procure materials and tools
• Help source outside machining/fabrication services

Skills

• Lightweight aircraft component fabrication (e.g., small/micro machining, composite layups, wiring/soldering)
• Fabrication through machining, composites, 3D printing
• 3D printer operation and maintenance
• RC building and flying (bonus)
• CAD/CAM (bonus)

Requirements

• Must have US citizenship
• On-site, collaborative work environment
