The Opportunity

Were seeking a creative Social Video Producer/Editor to be the driving force behind The FADERs visual storytelling across all social media platforms. Youll transform our compelling editorial stories into viral-worthy short-form content while creating original platform-specific series that resonate with millions of music and culture enthusiasts.

This isnt just about editing videos, youll be shaping how The FADERs journalism reaches and engages audiences on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and beyond.

What Youll Do

Content Creation & Production

• Script, produce, and edit vertical video content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and The FADERs digital platforms
• Create GIFs, short animations, and motion graphics that stop the scroll
• Transform print articles and editorial packages into engaging social content
• Develop visual treatment concepts and mood boards for new projects

Strategy & Trend Analysis

• Monitor news cycles and cultural trends to identify viral moments before they happen
• Utilize social media and video analytics to optimize content strategy based on audience behavior
• Maintain and evolve The FADERs digital brand visual style guides
• Collaborate with our Editorial Director and Social Media Editor on content strategy

Real-Time Response

• Create timely content around trending soundbites, breaking news, and cultural moments
• Produce reporter-driven explainers and in-the-field dispatches
• Adapt quickly to platform algorithm changes and emerging trends

• You're equally comfortable in front of the camera and behind the editing suite

The Technical Expert

• Proficient in Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or other video editing platforms
• Experience with digital asset management and content management systems
• Comfortable shooting high-quality content on mobile devices
• Skilled at creating motion graphics and animations

The Culture Curator

• Deep passion for emerging music, style, and cultural movements
• Strong knowledge of the creator/influencer ecosystem
• Understanding of The FADERs voice, history, and cultural position
• Ability to translate complex stories into conversational, accessible content

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Proven track record in social video production with demonstrable results
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in video editing software and mobile content creation
• Communication: Experience writing conversational scripts; on-camera presentation strongly preferred
• Mindset: Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders
• Flexibility: Willingness to work nights and weekends as news and culture demand
• Education: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field preferred but not required. Equivalent experience welcomed.
