Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

A K-12 Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for a full school year contract in Waterbury, CT. This position focuses on delivering individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their academic and social goals within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to address various disabilities and learning styles
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and growth
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for K-12
• Experience working with students across various grade levels and disabilities
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to build relationships with students, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs
