Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a flex overflow unit caring for ED boarder patients, requiring a NY RN license and BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is on a Med/Surg Tele unit serving as a 14-bed overflow area for ED boarder patients
• Unit is a flex space within the GI Endoscopy area, with fluctuating patient numbers
• Care includes management of telemetry and med/surg patients
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Requires working every other weekend
• Floating to other units is required
• EMR used is Epic, prior experience with Epic is preferred
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
• Primary duties include providing nursing care to a diverse patient population as part of an overflow unit
• RN must be able to adapt to fluctuating census and flex space environment
• Expected to collaborate with the IV team (PICC team) but must be proficient in IV placement
• Must wear navy blue or white scrubs
• Minimal time off is requested for the duration of the contract
• All requested days off must be disclosed at the time of application
• Standard vaccinations and compliance requirements apply

• Active NY RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Competency in IV placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response procedures
• Experience with oxygen administration, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
