Job Summary
The Travel Behavioral Health RN provides compassionate and effective care to patients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. This role involves assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery and stabilization in a behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor mental health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and de-escalate crisis situations.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and coping strategies.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or compact state.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent behavioral health nursing experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong communication and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work night shifts and manage high-acuity situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPI or equivalent crisis prevention certification.
- Experience in travel nursing.
- Familiarity with behavioral health documentation systems.
