Ahead of the upcoming event of SIAL Network that would bring together agricultural stakeholders from Africa and all over the world, the Managing Director of Promosalons, Mr. Akin Akinbola revealed that about 15-16 Nigerian agribusiness companies will exhibit their products at the summit.
While speaking during an exclusive interview with AgroNigeria on Tuesday, Mr Akin, who’s country member of SIAL, said:
“We will have between 15 and 16 Nigerian companies that will be exhibiting at this particular show, which is very important, and also as the focus is going to be Africa. Nigeria cannot afford to miss this great opportunity to showcase its potentiality.
“There would also be funding for local farmers from CDI in the Netherlands in partnership with Nigeria Export Promotion Council, NEPC. However, that funding is not made available to all individuals that would be attending the summit, but only those that are having products to be exhibited during the show.
“These farmers have been listed already by NEPC to the country sponsoring them. We are only awaiting confirmation.”
Earlier in his own remarks, the MD of SIAL Network in France, Nicolas Trentesaux explained that the summit is a good opportunity that intends to open up a lot of ways for Nigeria to become more independent in accelerating its food production, quality, and marketing strategies.
“For 2024, we are expecting to create more through delegations from Nigeria that will be attending the event to promote their production, and not only in Paris, but maybe also in China, India, and Indonesia.
“This summit would also help Nigeria to be competitive in the world food market,” Nicolas said.
