In a bid to achieve revenue generation, the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) in Abia State has recently inaugurated a feed mill.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, noted that the mill is designed to efficiently provide feed for the university’s livestock, with much more to be sold.

Additionally, the university is actively pursuing the internal production of fish feeds to enhance its fish production efforts.

Professor Iwe, Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), stated that the university is highly committed to achieving its goals through contributions from the Colleges of Animal Science and Animal Production (CASAP) and Crop and Soil Sciences (CCSS) which are promoting animal and crop production.

In addition to the new feed mill, Professor Iwe, who is also a professor of food science and technology, highlighted various internal revenue-generating ventures. These initiatives include the commercial production of water, bread, and biscuits.

He expressed gratitude to various organizations supporting the university’s objectives, including the Yahaya Kansila Foundation, National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), PZ Cussons, Dr. Chika Ikenga of Eunisells Company, and the BUA Group.
