The Tunisian government has expressed its willingness to partner with the Yobe State Government in commerce, agriculture, education, among others.

Mamman Mohammed, Director General, Press and Media Affairs to Yobe State Governor, disclosed this in a statement released following the visit of the Tunisian ambassador to Nigeria.

The Ambassador, Mr Mohsen Antit, who paid a courtesy visit to the Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni on Thursday, emphasised  that Yobe State has potential that is beneficial to its business community as well as the Tunisian business community.

In his words: “We are willing to explore these potentials to the benefit of our people and governments.

“We will arrange for exchange visits between the business communities for them to appreciate the potentials and the mutual benefits available for the two communities.”

Responding to the Tunisian ambassador, Governor Buni, assured the ambassador of his government’s commitment to promoting the partnership and support the exchange visits to promote the partnership.

He noted that the state has huge arable land and energetic youth readily available for agricultural engagements, as well as to explore other areas such as education.

“Similarly, our vibrant business community is ready for the partnership.” Governor Buni said.

He noted that the newly completed cargo airport would contribute to the proposed partnership between Yobe State and Tunisia.

“Let us be pragmatic, proactive and time-conscious in promoting this partnership to the benefit of our people,” Buni appealed.
