In a bid to enhance food production, the Nasarawa State Government has procured an additional 40 tractors worth millions of naira to support farmers across the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule announced the initiative during an interactive session at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) council secretariat in Lafia.
Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Comrade Peter Ahemba, the governor highlighted that these tractors are part of a broader effort to ease farming activities and improve agricultural productivity.
Earlier this year, the state distributed 15 tractors across 13 local government areas, underscoring its ongoing commitment to bolstering the agriculture sector.
Governor Sule stated that the procurement aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s food security program, assuring citizens that Nasarawa will be well-prepared to meet food demands by next year.
Furthermore, the governor addressed the state’s oil exploration efforts, noting that previous delays due to technical challenges had been resolved and exploration activities would soon resume.
Governor Sule reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of Nasarawa’s citizens and expressed appreciation for the local media’s coverage, pledging continued collaboration to support their professional work.
