The government of Adamawa State has recently acquired 10 large shuttle buses for its fuel subsidy removal palliative programme.

The committee responsible for managing the palliative programme revealed on Monday that the government has placed orders for trucks filled with rice, corn, and other items for future distribution.

“These essential items will be available to the public at a subsidized price of 50 percent. ”

The committee further stated that they have already received a portion of the rice, and they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the remaining quantity.

During the official presentation of the palliative program at the Government House in Yola, Awwal Tukur, the Secretary to the State Government and also the chairman of the palliative committee, emphasized that the intervention initiative aims to bring relief to individuals residing in all 266 wards of the state.

This comprehensive programme employs a multi-faceted strategy, addressing transportation needs, and offering subsidized food and non-food items to ensure the welfare of the people.

According to him, the 10 Innoson shuttle buses were acquired by the state government. Once put into operation, these buses will alleviate the difficulties faced by civil servants, students, and the general public.

He also mentioned that the distribution of the relief measures will be carried out at the ward level. Areas with a larger number of wards within the local government will receive more substantial aid packages.
