The National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Lamido Katsina, has praised the Katsina State Government for unveiling its ₦100 million Climate-Smart Agribusiness Empowerment Scheme, describing it as a bold move that aligns with the African Union’s drive for sustainable growth across the continent.
During the official launch, Hon. Abdullahi noted that the programme reflects a strong harmony between Nigeria’s agricultural agenda and the African Union’s broader development objectives.
According to him, “this initiative goes beyond a routine empowerment effort, it opens a clear pathway toward the realization of Agenda 2063.”
A collaborative effort between AUDA-NEPAD and the Katsina State Government, the scheme is designed to support smallholder farmers through the provision of quality seeds, modern equipment, capacity-building programmes, and improved market access, all geared toward promoting climate-resilient agribusiness.
He also applauded Governor Dikko Radda for his unwavering dedication to agricultural advancement in the state, pointing to key initiatives such as dam restoration, fertilizer distribution, and the deployment of solar-powered irrigation systems as evidence of his administration’s forward-thinking approach.
