Job Description

Commercial Project Manager

Location: On-Site, Phoenix, AZ

Industry: Real Estate Development & Construction

Seniority Level: Mid-to-Senior

Employment Type: Full-Time

A rapidly growing and well-established commercial real estate investment and development firm is looking to add a strategic, results-driven Commercial Project Manager to their team. This is a high-impact role leading real estate development projects from the ground up, driving initiatives from entitlement through construction. With multiple projects on deck and a new team forming, this position offers a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role within an evolving and entrepreneurial environment.

The team thrives in a fast-paced, agile atmosphere and is seeking someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, and contribute meaningfully to company-wide growth. The right candidate will bring project oversight experience, team leadership, and an excitement for continuous improvement in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all development activities across multiple commercial real estate projects, from entitlements through permitting and construction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for consultants including architects, engineers (civil, structural, landscape), surveyors, and other third-party vendors.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across acquisition, legal, construction, and disposition functions.
  • Oversee and manage timelines using internal project tracking tools, ensuring critical path milestones are met.
  • Work closely with municipalities, attending public hearings and representing the company during planning and approval processes.
  • Review consultant deliverables and ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project goals and budgets.
  • Maintain and update financial proformas, working closely with acquisitions and finance teams to stay within budget and mitigate cost overruns.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of tenant due diligence materials and work closely with tenant reps on development timelines.
  • Coach and support development associates on project execution best practices and municipal processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial real estate development, preferably with entitlement and permitting responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience working with public agencies and municipal bodies during development approval processes.
  • Strong familiarity with proformas, budget tracking, and construction project documentation.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Leadership experience with small cross-functional teams; ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
  • Comfortable working in a high-accountability, transparent leadership environment.
  • Must be highly detail-oriented, adaptable to change, and thrive under tight timelines.
  • Experience outside traditional CRE will be considered—diverse backgrounds are welcome.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, dependent on experience.
  • Annual bonus structure with two-tiered payout (August and March).
  • Full benefits: health, vision, dental starting at 90 days.
  • 401(k) with 5% employer match.
  • Half-day Fridays and flexible daily schedule with manager approval.
  • On-site position with minimal travel (primarily within Arizona).
  • Open to candidates who are self-relocating.

Why Apply?

  • Join a company that empowers its team with autonomy and values every voice.
  • Be part of a visionary team known for adapting quickly, breaking silos, and constantly striving for excellence.
  • Strong growth trajectory within the organization with clear paths for personal and professional development.
  • Work alongside a leadership team that embraces radical honesty, transparency, and celebrates achievements company-wide.
