Overview Prestige Maintenance USA provides scalable janitorial and facilities maintenance services using environmentally sustainable solutions. Job Details Job Purpose Custodian ensures that all types of buildings are neat, clean, free from clutter and safe. Porters will pick up trash, sweep, mop, vacuum, or use industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors, clean and stock bathrooms.
EXPECTATIONS FOR SATISFACTORY JOB PERFORMANCE • Completes assigned tasks within required time limit/or within company's expectations as directed by customer. • Performs cleanings tasks based on defined scope of work and customer requests. These tasks could include the following: o Empty wastebaskets and replace liner as neededo dust/clean tops of office furniture, desks and tableso vacuum all carpetingo spot clean soiled areas as neededo clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinalso Clean counters, mirrors and fixtureso Sweep and damp mop floor with disinfectanto Spot clean walls, partitions, and doorso Refill all restroom dispensers as neededo Wipe/clean all table tops and chairso Wipe/clean vending machines and applianceso Clean sink and damp mop tile floorso Sweep and spot mop tile floors• Follows all company policies and procedures• Works safely and within guidelines• Wears uniform at required worksites• Uses floor machines for,vacuuming and carpet cleaning within proper operating guidelines• Performs repetitive work according to set procedures and pace• Attends periodic training and safety meetings when required
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICAtions High school diploma or equivalent plus 1-3 years of hands on experience in a similar or related role(s).
additional skills: required & preferred ReQUIRED SKILLS: • Interpersonal Skills: Be friendly and pleasant• Mechanical Skills: understand how to work industrial equipment like floor buffers, industrial floor washers, and fix small building problems, like leaky faucets or faulty light switches• Must maintain a neat appearance. A uniform is required at some worksites• Must be able to understand and anticipate the needs of the client• Must be punctual• Understand and read in English; Some positions require the ability to speak, read, and write English
PREFERRED SKILLS: • Listening and verbal communication skills. • Knowledge of basic custodial duties and responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Able to read and communicate in English• Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds• Repetitive motion involved on a daily basis may include, but not limited to, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and squatting• Ability to operate small power tools• Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching into areas not fully air conditioned.• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time to include climbing/descending stairwells and ladders• Can work independently and in stressful environments• Regular, consistent and predictable attendance• May have responsibility to enter customer facilities that require background screening.
