Dispatcher - Westport, CT

$25-$30 per hour based on experience

Monday-Friday, occasional weekend coverage | 6:00 AM-5:00 PM with extended mid-day break

Dispatcher Responsibilities

Oversee all routes and bus scheduling

  • Counsel and coach drivers and monitors as needed

  • Handle high volumes of phone and radio communication

  • Receive and document scheduling issues or driver concerns, reporting to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager

  • Serve as the primary communication liaison with contracted customers

  • Manage charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll as assigned

  • Provide quick solutions to pick-up and drop-off challenges

  • Assist with day-to-day operational oversight and special projects

  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties or serve as a backup driver if needed

Required Skills and Experience

3-5 years of relevant experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to perform well under time constraints and deadlines

  • Computer literacy required

  • Previous experience in terminal operations, dispatch, or as a driver preferred

  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical (49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason)
