Overview Join to apply for the Food Safety Manager I role at Aramark . This role is part of the Howard University Aramark account and coordinates efforts targeting a holistic approach to implement safety and risk programs, processes, and procedures to protect people, property, environment, and company assets. The position functions as a strategic operational support leader to enhance safety and risk process improvements and serves as a key point of contact for addressing operational needs related to occupational safety, food safety & sanitation, and environmental compliance, employee training, and support execution of Aramark safety processes & procedures. Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Responsibilities Provide direct safety support, coordination, and guidance for various business units. Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, working with all levels of the organization to ensure safety standards/codes and employee protection. Plan, organize, and coordinate training programs, facilitate training, and promote safe practices and working conditions for all employees at the assigned business units. Conduct regular safety/quality audits and provide feedback to ensure quality services are delivered. Lead and participate in incident/event investigations, communicate findings, and ensure closure of action items. Evaluate current processes, perform gap analyses, and make recommendations. Conduct improvement activities to address gaps and increase contract compliance. Coach & lead staff in accordance with location and Aramark safety standards. Collaborate with Aramark Safety & Risk Solutions team, leadership teams, managers, district safety managers, and clients to review, implement, and enforce Aramark\'s SAFE Commitment. Maintain working relationships with local/regional compliance and regulatory authorities and 3rd party QA/QC groups. Assist locations and site-based management teams to effectively execute safety standards and requirements. Ensure the highest level of customer service and quality control for all supported locations. Coordinate and support region/district meeting/committee structures. Ensure locations have current Aramark safety standards and procedure documentation in place. Manage internal and external corrective action processes to comply with regulatory requirements and address root causes with corrective plans. Support new business mobilizations (startups, new openings) for the portfolio. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in occupational health and safety, food science, or hospitality management is preferred. 5-7 years of professional safety experience required; experience in management systems or a certified safety professional designation is preferred. Experience leading and managing staff through major organizational change initiatives and driving results using internal and external resources. Diverse background in addressing safety exposures with a proven track record of developing and implementing sound safety management programs. Strong understanding of safety best practices (e.g., HACCP), OSHA 10 general industry, and ServSafe food safety training. The individual will report directly to the Director of Safety & Risk Solutions and must have excellent communication, influencing, and consultative skills with the ability to build relationships from the C-suite to the front line. They must be client-focused with strong strategic and change management skills and be a team player capable of leveraging available resources to address diverse client needs. Successful candidates will have strong listening and needs assessment skills and the ability to deliver practical solutions to complex issues. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
