Overview
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager (RN) to lead daily operations within a busy Women’s Services department in Corpus Christi, Texas .
This leadership role is responsible for clinical oversight, staffing, quality outcomes, and staff engagement within Labor & Delivery. The Manager ensures high-quality, patient-centered obstetric care while supporting performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and a positive practice environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a Labor & Delivery leader with recent unit-level leadership experience who is ready to take ownership of a dynamic and high-impact department.
Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations and staffing for the Labor & Delivery unit
Ensure safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing care
Monitor clinical quality indicators and hold staff accountable for outcomes
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
People Management
Lead, coach, and support nursing staff to promote engagement and retention
Support onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing staff development
Foster a collaborative, professional practice environment
Quality & Performance Improvement
Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
Support patient experience efforts across Women’s Services
Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders to achieve department goals
Administrative Support
Assist with scheduling, productivity management, and operational efficiency
Participate in on-call leadership support as assigned
Required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact eligible)
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma
1+ year of recent leadership experience in Labor & Delivery
Demonstrated experience in acute care obstetric nursing
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Prior charge nurse, supervisor, or manager experience in L&D
