Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the upcoming school year at an elementary school located in Carmel, Indiana. This contract role offers the opportunity to work with an elementary caseload, providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a structured school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal guidelines
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to accommodate student abilities and learning styles
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting data
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports student social and emotional growth

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Indiana Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage classroom behaviors and foster a supportive learning environment
