Prof. Olufemi Peters, Vice Chancellor of National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja, praised Benue State University’s Centre for Food Technology and Research (CEFTER) students for developing over 100 innovative food products using local staples.
According to Prof. Peters, “the feat was achieved through teaching, research, and practical training, putting the university on the global map.”
CEFTER boasts impressive achievements such as producing 67 PhD graduates, 252 master’s degree holders, 23 postgraduate diplomas, and 7,850 certificate holders in short-term courses.
Prof. Peters commended CEFTER’s leader, Prof. Barnabas Ikyo, for addressing post-harvest losses in Africa.
