The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has launched the 2025 Annual National Food Intervention Project, valued at N16 billion, to support one million vulnerable Nigerians across the 774 Local Government Areas.
At the launch ceremony in Kano, Aliko Dangote, represented by his daughter, Maria Aliko Dangote, stated, “This annual initiative is part of our response to the current economic challenges facing our nation.”
He emphasized the importance of collaboration with state governments to ensure the food reaches the most vulnerable individuals.
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, represented by his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gworzo, commended Dangote’s commitment to addressing poverty and hunger, saying, “A similar event took place last year where he personally oversaw the distribution of food stuff to the poor in this very arena”.
The project aims to distribute 10kg bags of rice to vulnerable Nigerians, with 120,000 bags allocated to Kano State alone.
To ensure transparency, the state government has established a committee comprising relevant stakeholders to oversee the distribution process.
