Amidst a pressing hunger crisis, the House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government to take immediate action by opening the nation’s grain reserves and distributing grains to those in need.
The urgency for this resolution stemmed from a motion of national importance presented by Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka (APC-OGUN).
During the Plenary session chaired by Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Hon. Isiaka voiced deep concern over the escalating cost of living, particularly highlighting the sharp increase in cement prices, which has exacerbated financial hardships for Nigerians.
He emphasized, “The cost of living has become very high for Nigerians due to the rising cost of cement, even though we have all the raw materials for production here in Nigeria.”
“The House hereby urges the federal government and stakeholders to immediately open the food reserves to address the hunger in our country.”
