FAO Director-General QU Dongyu held a bilateral meeting with Alhaji Idi Mukhtar, Nigeria’s Minister of Livestock Development, to discuss key areas of reform aimed at transforming the country’s livestock sector.
The discussions focused on strengthening institutional frameworks, enhancing productivity and animal health systems, improving value chains, and promoting climate-resilient and sustainable livestock practices. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration between FAO and Nigeria to unlock the sector’s potential for food security, job creation, and economic growth.
