Ekiti Launches Initiative On Agricultural Education, Modern Practices

by AgroNigeria

The Ekiti State Government has officially launched The Agricultural Option (TAO) initiative, a program designed to revolutionize agricultural education and practice in the region.

This innovative initiative aims to foster economic prosperity, strengthen food security, and create employment opportunities for the youth.

The TAO Agricultural Development Cluster, based in Ekiti State University (EKSU), is a three-year program that will engage exceptional agricultural students in hands-on farming, processing, and agribusiness practices.

Participants will gain invaluable practical experience and receive up to N2 million annually to cover tuition and educational expenses.

AgroMall Chairperson, Mr. Niyi Ojuolape, expressed excitement over the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with EKSU and the Ekiti State Government. We believe this project will transform our students, university, and state, with far-reaching benefits for the wider community.”

Governor Biodun Oyebanji emphasized the importance of the project, saying, “This marks the beginning of a new era in agricultural development in Ekiti. We look forward to seeing the initiative’s positive impact on our community and beyond.”

The initiative is expected to generate approximately N40 billion in economic activity annually, boosting food production, reducing poverty, and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
