In a powerful Eid-el-Kabir message that stirred both hope and direction, the Emir of Gassol, His Royal Highness Idris Chiroma, has called on the youth of Taraba State to embrace farming as a noble path to wealth and stability.
Addressing residents during the Sallah celebration on Saturday, the traditional ruler urged his people to shift focus from idleness and social vices to productive agricultural ventures that can transform lives.
“The land is fertile. The opportunity is wide open. Agriculture remains the greatest economic equalizer we have,” Chiroma declared.
He encouraged the people of Gassol Local Government Area to take full advantage of the vast arable land in their care, noting that Taraba is blessed not only with rich soil but also with agricultural policies that support growth and innovation.
The Emir also threw his weight behind the agricultural transformation drive of Governor Agbu Kefas, calling on the youth to align themselves with the governor’s vision and steer clear of extremism and criminality. “Our future is not in violence. It is in the soil. It is in the seeds we plant,” he said.
The land is here. The laws are friendly. The market is waiting. All we need now is action,” he said, urging the community to move from talk to tilling.
However, his message sparked applause and reflection across Gassol, as many residents expressed renewed interest in returning to the farm not out of necessity, but with a new sense of purpose and pride.
